Understanding your CKD stage

| 90+ | G1 | Normal kidney function |
| 60–89 | G2 | Mildly decreased (often normal with age) |
| 45–59 | G3a | Mild to moderate decrease |
| 30–44 | G3b | Moderate to severe decrease |
| 15–29 | G4 | Severely decreased |
| <15 | G5 | Kidney failure |
Why no race coefficient?
Since 2021, the US standard CKD-EPI equation removed the race adjustment that earlier versions used. This calculator follows the current National Kidney Foundation and American Society of Nephrology recommendation.
